Free Today in NYC- New York in a Nutshell

Cost: Free
When: Thursday, 10/27 – Starting at 2:00 PM
Where: New York Public Library at 96th Street & Park Avenue
Category: Film Screenings, Group Event, Upper East Side

Okay, if you’re not getting your ghoul on yet, it’s officially time to get in the mindset for Halloween. We’re not talking about searching Ricky’s for a Congressman Weiner mask or finding the best haunted pub crawl. No, to truly get in the Halloween Spirit NYC style, you need to immerse yourself in the history, culture and art of the day. To that end, The New York Public Library at 96th Street and Park Ave is hosting a free afternoon of screening some classic horror films.

Starting at 2:00 PM, grab a comfy seat and enjoy five cinematic classics including The Tell-Tale Heart, The Amateurist, The Lottery and more. Some classic short films from the last fifty year all centered around the spirit of the season.

Lucky for you, there will even still be some daylight when you leave the library to ward off the demons, ghosts and haunted spirits.
