Tickets on sale this morning (1/7) for NYC's Broadway Week!

Broadway Week returns with 2-for-1 Tickets to popular shows

The always-in-gear NYC tourist board is trying to kick those infamous January Great White Way Blahs (or the JGWWB as its known) with 2-for-1 tickets deals on 19 Broadway plays and musical starting Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday February 7th. Sure, that’s more like three weeks, but we won’t complain.

The initiative was started a few years back as a way to beet the post-holiday slump in tickets sales and combat general city-wide winter-doldrums. It has become a wonderful way to get inexpensive tickets for some amazing shows. There are surprisingly few restrictions and an impressive variety of high quality shows from legendary long-running musicals (like Phantom of the Opera) to popular new comers  (like Newsies).

So, why are we telling you about this so far in advance? Because tickets for this discount go on sale this morning at 10:30 AM and the most popular shows nad dates will fill up fast! More info and links can be found here!
Worth pointing out that this is part of a universal tourist partnership by the city and the theaters rather than an offering from the usual suspicious and concerning off-market ticket agencies. This is all part of Mayor Mike's hard push to create a NYC Tourism Machine that is a never-ending, gear-grinding beast.

Visiting the Museum of Sex in NYC

Whilst hosting visitors in town last weekend, we had a chance to re-visit the always provocative and fascinating Museum of Sex at 27th Street and 5th Avenue in Manhattan. The museum, which will celebrate its 10tt anniversary in October, is better than ever.

The Museum of Sex recently expanded to four floors and added a small basement bar. The current exhibits include the permanent collection, Sex and The Moving Image, The Sex Lives of Animals (particularly captivating!), F*ck Art – the street art exhibition, and Universe of Desire which studies the impact of ”Desire has gone viral.” That exhibit includes a big wall dedicated to exploring the Top 100 sex-related internet search terms.

Also, there are about five events a month at the museum that covers a wide array of sex related topics. If you’ve been always curious to visit but never made the time, we highly recommend. The exhibitions are masterfully curated and the entire experience is as informative as it is entertaining. Just kind of what a museum should be, right?

Adult Admission Tickets are $17.50, but an online 20% off coupon for discount tickets to the Museum of Sex can can be found at http://www.smartsave.com/museum-of-sex.

Dialog In The Dark NYC Discount Tickets

The Big Adventure posted on NYC  Dialog on the Dark a few weeks ago when the exhibit first opened, but there seems to be a large interest in the show and Dialog In The Dark NYC discounts. So, we're updating with new information on the show and how to get Dialog in the Dark NYC coupons for tickets to see the program on the cheap.Read below!

The Big Adventure has found that one of the more interesting things about NYC is that there is always another organization trying to present a new type of tour with a unique twist.

This new  "Dialog In The Dark" New York City exhibit is designed to simulate a day in the city from the perspective of someone without sight. "
An indoor sensory tour" hosted by blind guides, visitors will be taken through a specially built and totally darkened space. Then, with the help of trusty cane, visitors will rely on their senses to try and perform daily routines and recognize famous elements that they might encounter throughout New York.

Billed as a tour of NYC "where site is strictly prohibited", the program has already run in dozens of cities across Europe and Atlanta. Dialog In The Dark looks like an authentic, educational, intriguing and compelling - but will it be any good? We're a bit skeptical but also keeping an open mind. Especially since it seems like they are sincere in raising awareness on blindness an committed to creating opportunities for the vision-impaired.

The exhibit opened in NYC in late August at South Street Seaport. Rrrriiight next to the Bodies Exhibit. Adult tickets start around $23, but if there is one thing we know curious locals and savvy tourists enjoy its coupons and discount tickets to NYC attractions. To that end, discounts to NYC Dialog in the Dark can be found at our beloved Goldstar  and also 15% off through the good people at City Guide (There was also a quality LocalFox Deals  but it now appears to be expired.) You can also find cheap tickets pretty easy around the web if needed.
