This first week in January is the near-perfect time
of year to catch up on your movie viewing. If you're like us, between the
Golden Globe nods, Indie Release and Over-the-top Holiday Ads for Blockbuster
Films, you have a queue of about twenty-seven films for which you're eager find
a seat in a comfy theater chair, grab a tub of popcorn, and soak it all in at
the theater for a few hours.
There are so many wonderful film houses in NYC, that in the shuffle to find the most ideal show time, the actual theater can get lost in the shuffle. To that end, we share this guide to the Best Movie Theaters in NYC. This listing from NYC's CBS 4 features more independent joints best used to catch that little film that no one know about (but everyone should): http://newyork.cbslocal.com/top-lists/new-york-citys-6-best-movie-theaters/.
For the traditional Multiplex, we recommend the AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 at Broadway and 68th. We also have to give an honorable mention to City Cinemas Village East's beautiful Main Theater at 12th St and 2nd Ave. We enjoyed a flick there for "The Letter C" Big Adventure many moons ago.
